+ Why would I donate to Twelve instead of bringing it directly to a shelter?

We believe that every menstruator should be using products that they prefer and are comfortable with. Depending on the products the shelter has at the time this may not always be possible.

Shelters will never turn down menstrual product donations even if they know it’s products that are not needed at the moment. These donations then take up space in the limited amount of storage they have and can be stored for months and sometimes even years without being used.

Twelve was built in consultation with shelters in the GTA and we are currently used by more than 30 organizations in the city. They use our service not only because Twelve and the product we donate are free but also because it alleviates the need for storage.

As the needs of their menstruators change month over month so too does the products required and so does the donation that Twelve delivers.

+ What can I donate?

We accept tampons, pads, menstrual cups and liners. The boxes can be new and sealed, opened, or damaged. We also accept loose products so long as they are individually sealed.

+ When are your donation drives?

Our donation drives are in May, September, and December. Follow us on Instagram or Facebook to find out which businesses are accepting donations and what incentives are being offered.


+ How can I donate outside of your donation drives?

If you want to donate outside of our donation drives please contact us. We have a few different options (listed below) and would like to find the option that makes donating to Twelve easiest for you!

  • You can drop-off 24/7 365 to our home in Leslieville
  • You can pack and mail us your donation or send it directly to us from an online retailer
  • We offer free pick-up from most parts of the GTA
  • Drop off at an event we are attending. In the past we have attended events such as; Lean In and Ladies Beer Fest, so if you’re going to be there don’t forget your donation

Awesome! It’s people like you that make Twelve possible! It may seem daunting at first to start a drive but it’s really simple! We’ve created a step by step guide available here (link the PDF). We want to make your drive as successful as possible so if you need anything please don’t be shy!

+ I want to do a drive at my workplace and collect products for Twelve?

Is your organization looking for a way to make a meaningful impact within your community? If so, our menstrual product corporate drives offer you the opportunity to engage your teams and contribute in a measurable way. We’ve created a step by step guide available here. We will provide you with a donation box, marketing material, and pick up, all you have to do is spread the word, it’s that easy!

+ What is a ‘monthly donation request’

This was the idea that started it all for Twelve. This is open to shelters and organizations who on a monthly basis can request the exact amount and type of product they need! This alleviates the storage needs, cost of product, and allows us to get the preferred products in the hands of menstruators who need them.

+ What is a ‘moving program donation request’?

If your shelter or organization offers a moving program helping individuals and families safely transition from the shelter to their own homes, Twelve will provide menstruators participating in this service with six months of menstrual products.

+ What is your ‘individual donation request’?

This is open to ANYONE who menstruates. If you’re struggling to afford the menstrual products that you prefer and need we would like to help! We don’t judge so, If you need it, we will provide it. On the individual donation request form please indicate the specific product/s you use and we will deliver it, no questions asked!
